A question that probably some of you are thinking of if you’re totally into that world, which I find to be very interesting. So, supposedly we hit the body with a tremendous, whether it’s ultraviolet or just very powerful light, and I think you said that hasn’t been checked, but you’re going to test it. And then I said supposing you brought the light inside the body, which you can do either through the skin or in some other way. And I think you said you’re going to test that too. Sounds interesting, right? And then I see the disinfectant, where it knocks it out in one minute. And is there a way we can do something like that by injection inside or almost a cleaning because you see it gets in the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs, so it’d be interesting to check that so that you’re going to have to use medical doctors with, but it sounds interesting to me. So, we’ll see, but the whole concept of the light, the way it kills it in one minute.
Carol and I are six weeks into lockdown. This is undoubtedly the most time the two of us have spent together, uninterrupted, since we met back in August of 1984. I have to be honest… We’ve run out of things to talk about.
Last night at dinner, we sat in near silence, like those older couples you used to see sitting in restaurants — back when you could still go out and enjoy meals in restaurants — glancing down at their food, looking around the room, not talking to one another. An occasional word, but mostly silent.
We’ve reached that point.
What follows is a complete transcript of our dinner conversation last night. I set my phone to “record” in my shirt pocket. This is a verbatim transcript:
CAROL: Could you get the salt?
[I get up, walk over, get the salt and bring it back to the table.]
CAROL: Warm.
ME: The food?
CAROL: No, the weather.
ME: Uh-huh..
[LONG SILENCE]
CAROL: Please don’t do that.
ME: I have a piece of lamb stuck in my teeth.
CAROL: Please.
[LONG SILENCE]
ME: The president said today that we may be able to get injections of disinfectant that will kill the virus.
CAROL: Huh.
[LONG SILENCE]
ME: We have Lysol™ and Chlorox™ in the cupboard.
CAROL: Are you —
ME: If you start coughing, I could —
CAROL: No.
[LONG SILENCE]
ME: And there’s also UV light.
CAROL: What?
ME: The president said if we could get UV light inside the body, it could kill the —
CAROL: No.
[LONG SILENCE]
ME: So I sent away for a UV wand from Amazon.
CAROL: How would you get it inside the body?
ME: It’s not that big.
CAROL: No.
[LONG SILENCE]
ME: Inside the lungs.
[LONG SILENCE]
ME: Kills it instantly.
[VERY LONG SILENCE]
CAROL: No.
ME: Okay. I’ll do the dishes.
CAROL: Okay.
